DAY PROGRAM LEADER (full-time)

Position Summary

The Day Program Leader is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our Day Program. They are an effective member of the House and Program Leader Team and an active member of the L’Arche Stratford Community. The main responsibilities of the Day Program Leader include: supervising and coaching team members; program development, administration and oversight; liaising with family members and care professionals; facilitating and participating in meetings; assisting in the direct support of program members. This is a permanent, full-time role which includes Group Insurance Benefits and opportunities for continued growth.

 

Ideal candidates will possess the following:

• excellent organizational skills and effective communication skills

• the ability to work independently and in a team setting
• the ability to supervise and monitor the performance of others and provide coaching
• proficiency in writing service documents and attention to detail in scheduling
• creative problem solving and decision-making skills
• the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage change
• experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities

 

Qualifications include:

• 1-2 years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities

• a valid G class driver’s license in good standing and access to a reliable vehicle
• criminal background check including vulnerable sector screening
• current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) or First Aid/CPR certification an asset
• post-secondary education in a related field is an asset
